It’s called Instagram TV i.e. IGTV and it’s supposed to be TV made for the phone with a special focus on vertical videos. Anyone can create a channel, and whatever is broadcast is available for the masses to view from inside the Instagram app. If you like a particular video, you can download IGTV videos. There’s no built-in tool in the Instagram app to download IGTV videos. Instead, you have to utilize a third-party tool.

We should warn you that while you may want to save an IGTV video offline to view later, you should not download it with the intent to redistribute it as your own.

In order to download IGTV videos, you first need a link to the video you want to download. You can get this link from the Instagram app. Open IGTV, and select which channel you want to watch. Pick the video you want to download, and play it. On the video, there’s a three dot button. Tap it, and from the menu, select Copy Link.

The link will be copied to your clipboard and it’s up to you to make it accessible on your desktop.

Visit a web app called IGTV Downloader and paste the link you just copied in the search bar, and tap Search. The process is the same; copy a link to the video and paste it in the app. With Android, you can download videos to your camera roll.

There are apps that let you download Instagram videos and photos posted by accounts. They’ve been around for a long time, almost since the first year the app was released. It’s no surprise that an app for downloading IGTV videos has been developed so quickly. There will likely be more like it and perhaps some will make it easier to get the link to the video.

IGTV isn’t available on Instagram’s web version which is still very bare compared to the apps. It’s highly unlikely that you will be able to access IGTV from the web so there’s no easier way to get a link to an IGTV video.

Related Articles Instagram has a new feature that lets users create their own channels, and share videos with their followers.
