Unfortunately, these features are only available in the official Linux release of Steam. For this reason, the Steam application must be installed to play the game.<\/p>\n<h3>Install Steam<\/h3>\n<p>To install Steam on Linux, open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop. You can open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop by pressing\u00a0<strong>Ctrl + Alt + T\u00a0<\/strong>on the keyboard. Or by searching for \u201cTerminal\u201d in the app menu and launching it that way.<\/p>\n<p>When the terminal window on the desktop is open, follow the installation instructions down below that correspond with the Linux operating system you currently use.<\/p>\n<h4>Ubuntu<\/h4>\n<p>To install Steam on Ubuntu, use the following\u00a0<strong>Apt install\u00a0<\/strong>command down below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo apt install steam\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Debian<\/h4>\n<p>On Debian Linux, the best way to install Steam is to download the Steam DEB package directly. To do that, use the following\u00a0<strong>wget\u00a0<\/strong>download command down below. It will grab the Steam DEB package directly from the Steam website and place it in your home folder.<\/p>\n<pre>\nwget https:\/\/steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net\/client\/installer\/steam.deb\n<\/pre>\n<p>When the download process is complete, the installation of Steam can begin. Using the <strong>dpkg\u00a0<\/strong>command down below, install the latest release of Steam onto your Debian system.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo dpkg -i steam.deb\n<\/pre>\n<p>Following the installation of Steam, you\u2019ll need to set up the remaining dependencies on the system. To set up the dependencies on your computer. Use the\u00a0<strong>apt-get install -f<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo apt-get install -f\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Arch Linux<\/h4>\n<p>On Arch Linux, you can get the latest release of Steam through the \u201cmultilib\u201d software repository. To do that, open up the \/etc\/pacman.conf file, locate the \u201cmultilib\u201d section, remove the # symbol, as well as the lines directly below it.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019ve finished editing the file, save it and re-sync Pacman with the following command.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo pacman -Syy\n<\/pre>\n<p>With Pacman resynced and the new multilib software repository configured, you can install Steam on your system using the command below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo pacman -S steam\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Fedora\/OpenSUSE<\/h4>\n<p>If you\u2019re on Fedora or OpenSUSE, you\u2019ll be able to install Steam on these operating systems with the software repositories included with the operating system. To do that, install the \u201cflatpak\u201d package onto your computer. Or, follow our in-depth guide on the subject.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019ve gotten the runtime configured, you can install Steam with the two commands down below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nflatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https:\/\/flathub.org\/repo\/flathub.flatpakrepo\n<\/pre>\n<pre>\nflatpak install flathub com.valvesoftware.Steam\n<\/pre>\n<h3>Play Max Payne on Linux<\/h3>\n<p>With Steam installed, open it up and log into your account using your user credentials. Then, follow the step-by-step instructions below to play Max Payne on Linux.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:\u00a0<\/strong>After logging into Steam, click on the \u201cSteam\u201d menu and select the \u201cSettings\u201d button inside of the menu.
