So, no matter what Linux operating system you use, you\u2019ll be able to get this app working.<\/p>\n<p>To start the installation process, you\u2019ll have to download the installer to your computer. To download the app installer, you\u2019ll need to head over to the Itch website. After going to the website, find the \u201cStart Download\u201d button.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When you click on the \u201cStart Download\u201d button, your web browser of choice will save the \u201citch-setup\u201d file to your downloads folder. When the process is complete, open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop.<\/p>\n<p>To open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop, press <strong>Ctrl + Alt + T<\/strong> on the keyboard. Alternatively, search for \u201cTerminal\u201d in the app menu and launch it that way.<\/p>\n<p>With the terminal window open, use the <strong>CD<\/strong> command to move the terminal window into the \u201cDownloads\u201d folder. This folder has the \u201citch-setup\u201d file that you need to run to get the app working.<\/p>\n<pre>\ncd ~\/Downloads\n<\/pre>\n<p>Inside the \u201cDownloads\u201d folder, use the <strong>chmod<\/strong> command to change the permissions of the \u201citch-setup\u201d installation file so that it is executable. Without changing the permissions, it will not run.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo chmod +x itch-setup\n<\/pre>\n<p>After updating the installation file\u2019s permissions, the \u201citch-setup\u201d file will be able to execute as a program. From here, you can run the setup file using the command below.<\/p>\n<pre>\n.\/itch-setup\n<\/pre>\n<p>Once the \u201citch-setup\u201d file is executed as a program on the Linux desktop, the Itch installation tool will appear on the screen. This installation tool will show you that it is installing the game client on your system. It will take a few minutes to complete.<\/p>\n<p>When the Itch installer is finished, the installer will close, and you\u2019ll be returned to the Linux desktop. From here, open up the app menu and locate \u201cItch\u201d in your app menu, and open it up on the Linux desktop.<\/p>\n<p>When the Itch application is open on the Linux desktop, you\u2019ll see a login screen. If you do not have an account, click the \u201cRegister\u201d button at the client\u2019s bottom. Be sure to use a secure, memorable password so that you can keep your account safe.<\/p>\n<h2>How to play games with Itch.io on Linux<\/h2>\n<p>To play games on Itch.io, follow the step-by-step instructions down below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Inside of the Itch application on your Linux desktop, find the \u201cUsername\/Email\u201d text box and click on it with your mouse.
