Install Steam<\/h3>\n

Installing Steam on Linux is best done with the terminal. Open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T<\/strong> on the keyboard to start the installation. Or, search for \u201cTerminal\u201d in the app menu and launch it that way.<\/p>\n

With the terminal window open and ready to use, the installation can begin. Using the instructions outlined below, set up Steam according to the Linux operating system you currently use.<\/p>\n

Ubuntu<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you\u2019d like to get the latest Steam release working on Ubuntu, use the apt install<\/strong> command below.<\/p>\n

Debian<\/strong><\/h4>\n
It is possible to install Steam on Debian. However, you\u2019ll have to download the DEB package to your computer. To download the latest Steam release to your Debian PC, use the wget<\/strong> download command below.<\/p>\n
\nwget https:\/\/steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net\/client\/installer\/steam.deb\n<\/pre>\n
With the DEB package is done downloading to your computer, the installation of Steam can begin. Using the dpkg<\/strong> command down below, set up Steam.<\/p>\n
\nsudo dpkg -i steam.deb\n<\/pre>\n
After installing the Steam DEB package onto your computer, you\u2019ll need to correct any dependencies that failed to install during the setup process. To fix the errors, use the apt-get install -f<\/strong> command.<\/p>\n
\nsudo apt-get install -f\n<\/pre>\n
Arch Linux<\/strong><\/h4>\n
Steam is on Arch Linux. If you want to set it up on your computer, you\u2019ll have to enable the \u201cmutlilib\u201d software repository. To do that, open up the \/etc\/pacman.conf file in your favorite text editor (as root).<\/p>\n
Once the text editor opens the text file, scroll down and locate the \u201cmultilib\u201d section. Then, remove the # symbol from directly in front of it. Also, remove the # symbols from the lines directly below. When done, save the edits and run the command below.<\/p>\n
\nsudo pacman -Syy\n<\/pre>\n
Finally, install the latest release of Steam onto your Arch Linux computer using the following\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fedora\/OpenSUSE<\/strong><\/h4>\n
Those on Fedora or OpenSUSE Linux have the ability to install Steam from the software repositories included with their operating systems. However, the Flatpak release of Steam works a lot better on these operating systems, so we suggest following those instructions instead.<\/p>\n
Flatpak<\/strong><\/h4>\n
To use the Flatpak release of Steam, you must first enable the Flatpak runtime. Enabling the Flatpak runtime is easy, but don\u2019t worry if you don\u2019t know how to do it. We can help! Check out our in-depth guide on how to set up Flatpak on Linux.<\/p>\n
After setting up the Flatpak runtime on your computer, the installation of Steam can begin. Using the two commands below, get Steam working on your computer.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nflatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https:\/\/flathub.org\/repo\/flathub.flatpakrepo\nflatpak install flathub com.valvesoftware.Steam\n<\/pre>\n
Install Trine Enchanted Edition on Linux<\/h3>\n
Once the Steam app is installed on your Linux PC, open up the app. Then, log into your account using your user credentials. When logged in, follow along with the step-by-step instructions below to get Trine Enchanted Edition up and running.<\/p>\n
Step 1:<\/strong> Open up the \u201cSteam\u201d menu inside of Steam. Then, select the \u201cSettings\u201d button to access the Steam settings area.
