Sadly, the sequel, Risk of Rain 2, isn\u2019t. That being said, the game still works well on Linux, thanks to the Proton compatibility tool included in Steam.<\/p>\n<h3>Install Steam<\/h3>\n<p>To use Proton, you will need to get the Steam app installed on your computer. Steam works on a wide variety of Linux operating systems. To install the app on your computer, open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop.<\/p>\n<p>With the terminal window open, the installation can begin. Using the instructions down below, set up the latest release of Steam on your Linux computer.<\/p>\n<h4>Ubuntu<\/h4>\n<p>To get Steam working on your Ubuntu system, use the following <strong>apt install<\/strong> command below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo apt install steam\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Debian<\/h4>\n<p>If you need to get Steam working on your Debian system, you will have to download the official Steam DEB package to your computer. Using the <strong>wget<\/strong> download command, grab the latest release of Steam.<\/p>\n<pre>\nwget https:\/\/steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net\/client\/installer\/steam.deb\n<\/pre>\n<p>After grabbing the latest DEB package, the installation can begin. Using the <strong>dpkg<\/strong> command down below, set up the newest release on your computer.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo dpkg -i steam.deb\n<\/pre>\n<p>With the Steam app set up on your computer, you will need to correct any dependency issues that may have arisen during the installation process using the <strong>apt-get install -f<\/strong> command.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo apt-get install -f\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Arch Linux<\/h4>\n<p>To get Steam working on Arch Linux, you will need to enable the \u201cmultilib\u201d software repository on your computer. To enable this software repository, open up the \/etc\/pacman.conf file (as root). Then, find the # symbol and remove it from the \u201cmultilib\u201d line, as well as the lines directly below.<\/p>\n<p>After editing the file, save it. Then, re-sync your Arch Linux system to the official repositories by using the following <strong>pacman<\/strong> command down below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo pacman -Syy\n<\/pre>\n<p>Finally, install the latest release of Steam on your computer using the <strong>pacman<\/strong> command.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo pacman -S steam\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Fedora\/OpenSUSE<\/h4>\n<p>Those using Fedora or OpenSUSE will be able to install the Steam application by making use of software repositories included with the operating system. That said, the Flatpak instructions work much better, so we suggest following those instructions instead.<\/p>\n<h4>Flatpak<\/h4>\n<p>To use the FLatpak release of Steam on your Linux system, you must first set up the Flatpak runtime. You can configure the Flatpak runtime by following our guide on the subject.<\/p>\n<p>With the runtime configured, the installation of Steam can begin. Using the commands below, set up Steam.<\/p>\n<pre>\nflatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https:\/\/flathub.org\/repo\/flathub.flatpakrepo\n<\/pre>\n<pre>\nflatpak install flathub com.valvesoftware.Steam\n<\/pre>\n<h3>Install \u200eRisk of Rain 2 Linux<\/h3>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve set up Steam on your computer, open it up and log into your account. Then, follow the step-by-step instructions below to get Risk of Rain 2 working on Linux.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Find the \u201cSteam\u201d button inside of Steam and select the \u201cSettings\u201d button inside of the menu. When you click on the \u201cSettings\u201d button, you\u2019ll access the Steam settings area.<\/p>\n<p>Look inside of the Steam settings area and click on the \u201cSteam Play\u201d button. Then, check the box Enable Steam Play for supported titles\u201d and \u201cEnable Steam Play for all other titles\u201d box.
