So, before we go over how you can clean up your Linux PC with the app, we\u2019ll need to show you how to install it.<\/p>\n<p>To start the installation, you will need to open up a terminal window. You can open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop by pressing <strong>Ctrl + Alt + T<\/strong> on the keyboard. Or, search for \u201cTerminal\u201d in the app menu and launch it that way.<\/p>\n<p>With the terminal window open, the installation of Sweeper can begin. Follow along with the installation instructions down below to get the Sweeper tool set up on your computer.<\/p>\n<h4>Ubuntu<\/h4>\n<p>On Ubuntu, you\u2019ll be able to install the latest release of Sweeper on your Ubuntu computer using the <strong>apt install<\/strong> command down below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo apt install sweeper\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Debian<\/h4>\n<p>Those using Debian Linux (so long as you are on Debian 11, 10, or 9) will be able to install Sweeper quite easily through the \u201cMain\u201d software repository using the <strong>apt-get install<\/strong> command.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo apt-get install sweeper\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Arch Linux<\/h4>\n<p>The Sweeper application is available for all Arch Linux users via the \u201cExtra\u201d software repository. If you\u2019re trying to get it working on your system, ensure you have the \u201cExtra\u201d repo enabled. Then, use the <strong>pacman -S<\/strong> command to set up Sweeper.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo pacman -S sweeper\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Fedora<\/h4>\n<p>On Fedora Linux, users can install the Sweeper program from the \u201cFedora\u201d software repository. To get it working on your system, use the following <strong>dnf install<\/strong> command below in a terminal.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo dnf install sweeper\n<\/pre>\n<h4>OpenSUSE<\/h4>\n<p>The Sweeper application is available to OpenSUSE Linux users via the \u201cOss\u201d software repository. To get it working on your computer, make use of the following <strong>zypper install<\/strong> command down below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo zypper install sweeper\n<\/pre>\n<h4>Snap package<\/h4>\n<p>The KDE Project has packaged up the Sweeper cleaning utility as a Snap package and made it available to all users who have access to Snaps. If you\u2019d like to install Sweeper as a Snap package on your computer, do the following.<\/p>\n<p>First, follow our guide to configure the Snap package runtime on your computer. The runtime must be configured and installed before attempting to install Snaps. After setting up the Snap runtime, the installation of Sweeper can be done with the <strong>snap install<\/strong> command below.<\/p>\n<pre>\nsudo snap install sweeper\n<\/pre>\n<h2>Clean your Linux PC with Sweeper<\/h2>\n<p>To clean your PC with Sweeper, start by launching the app on your computer. You can open up Sweeper by searching for \u201cSweeper\u201d in the app menu. Once the application is open, follow the sections below.<\/p>\n<h3>Clean Linux OS junk<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-411947 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/files2.tojikon.net\/files-cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/how-to-clean-your-linux-pc-with-sweeper.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1008\"\/><\/p>\n<p>If you want to clean junk files from your Linux operating system with Sweeper, do the following. First, find the \u201cWeb Browsing\u201d section of the app and de-select all the boxes.<\/p>\n<p>After de-selecting all of the boxes underneath the \u201cWeb Browsing\u201d section in Sweeper, you\u2019ll be able to clear your Linux OS junk with Sweeper. To clean, select the \u201cClean Up\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p>When you click on the \u201cClean Up\u201d button in Sweeper, a text box will appear. This text box says, \u201cYou are deleting data that is potentially valuable to you. Are you sure?\u201d Click on the \u201cContinue\u201d button to confirm your choice.<\/p>\n<p>Sweeper will clean all of the junk out of your system. When the process is complete, you\u2019ll see \u201cClean up finished\u201d appear in the text prompt in Sweeper.<\/p>\n<h3>Clean web browser junk<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-411944 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/files2.tojikon.net\/files-cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/how-to-clean-your-linux-pc-with-sweeper-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1009\"\/><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking to clean out your web browser junk from your Linux OS with Sweeper, here\u2019s how to do it. First, de-select all boxes in the \u201cGeneral\u201d section of the app. Then, ensure all boxes in the \u201cWeb Browsing\u201d section are checked.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re sure that all \u201cWeb Browsing\u201d boxes are checked, the cleaning can begin. Inside of Sweeper, find the \u201cClean Up\u201d button and click on it with the mouse.<\/p>\n<p>Upon selecting the \u201cClean Up\u201d button, a text box will appear. This box says, \u201cYou are deleting data that is potentially valuable to you. Are you sure?\u201d Confirm you wish to continue by selecting the \u201cContinue\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p>The cleaning shouldn\u2019t take long. When the process is complete, you\u2019ll see \u201cClean up finished\u201d in the text box.<\/p>\n<h4>Clean all junk<\/h4>\n<p>Want to clean all the junk on your Linux PC at once? Ensure all text boxes are checked in Sweeper. Then, click on the \u201cClean Up\u201d button. Upon selecting this button, you will see, \u201cYou are deleting data that is potentially valuable to you.
